  • OMG. I am so sorry to everyone who ends up reading that post. Can't believe I forgot to put a spoiler alert. This is one of the times where a 5 min edit time is not very good.
  • I watched fear and loathing in las vegas!
It was pretty good, I enjoyed it
  • I feel I've seen pretty much every movie made. I average 4-8 movies a week. I just love movies.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
I'm the same, Wik. Usually a movie a night. Sometimes two.. today I watched Deathly Hallows, which was good and 'The Town' which was also good. Mostly good. I like heist movies and it didn't disappoint. Now I'm going to start 'Dinner for Schmucks' and hit the hay... probably.
  • Leon the Professional is an AMAZING movie. I am sure you will like it Wick.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
I watched 'Restrepo', Dinner For Schmucks' and 'Cyrus' over the last couple days. My feelings were 'Meh', 'Heh... meh..' and 'Meh?'.

Cyrus was pretty good... the other two... well... I dunno. Especially since 'Restrepo' is a docu. about the kids (US Soliders) over in Afghanistan right now.

Watching that movie made me feel not so good about their war effort. Just a bunch of kids, no one knows what the fuck is going on, they've got their 'Mission' and a bunch of weapons. Have at 'er fellas. I guess it's probably always been that way, but watching it happen in a documentary was depressing.
  • Tomorrow night on History channel, they are playing JFK. The Oliver Stone movie about the assassination of JFk, it is a good movie. One of my fav's.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
I watched 'Unstoppable' today and laughed my ass off.

A lot of it is over-the-top ridiculous. I'm sure any movie that focuses on something that you are familiar with is much the same way... but that rarely happens to me.. so I really enjoyed myself.

Today I went on a downloading spree and I have many a movie to watch now... which makes me happy. I just hope the feds don't kick down my door.

Never is a good time to have an edit timer.
I so badly hate edit timers....Like you just can't imagine just how much I hate edit timers.

I'm off to see Tron tomorrow(today technically I guess since its 3am...)

Basically the only times I see movies is when my friends and I go to the theatre to see new releases.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
Watched True Grit (2010),The Social Network and The Fighter... I liked them in that order. All very well done. The girl in True Grit was a joy to watch... she's gonna be someone. I hope the Coen brothers keep her around.
  • Yeah True Grit is great
    as in the Social network

I have not seen the figter...yet
  • Watched Dinner for Shmucks today
Great movie! The way Steve Carrel can act like an idiot and troll all at once in this movie is amazing
    Zack galafanakasijkais is great too!
  • RajioRajio Centurion
I'm planning to watch Leon: The Professional tonight. I hope it won't end up being overhyped for me. I've heard nothing but great things, so I'm going in with high expectations.
    so....thoughts?
  • RajioRajio Centurion
aaah tks. glad you liked it too
  • DoosDoos Centurion
I may have mentioned it previously, but you motherfuckers watched Memento? That movie is kick ass.

Today I watched 'Jonah Hex' which was pretty lame... needed more whorish Megan Fox... and 'The Assignment' which is the opposite of lame... but also could've done with some whorish Megan Fox. She needs to switch to porn... 'cause she can't act any way.

Memento is a great movie...shows how great Christopher Nolan is. Doos, which movie is The Assignment?
  • RajioRajio Centurion
Have I mentioned "this is england" I watched it last month and loved it.

I agree after watching Jonah Hex the only thing I could think about was what a waste of time watching it was
hell I already forgot the whole thing
  • DoosDoos Centurion
    @Vanished http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118647/

That's 'The Assignment'. It's starting to show it's age a little bit... but it's still worth a watch. It's Canadian too!

@Npc Yeah, I really dig Josh Brolin.. and John Malkovich, so it was a bit of a bummer to see 'em in a movie that wasn't all that great.

@Raj I'll have to give that flick a look... looks interesting!
  • @Doos Yeah, I thought that was the one...I have seen that movie before...love the.."is it...ya think...no can't be" ending
  • OzziOzzi Centurion
I rented a whole pile of movies the other day so i got.....
I watched Jonah Hex, It was a decent movie. I liked the western feel
I got halfway through Inception until i gave up on that. I gave up on it when a train was in the middle of the road driving :P I was like WTF!?!?
The other Guys was a pretty good movie aswell.
The American was another alright movie.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
I watched Inception in the theater and it was... ok. I don't think I'll watch it again. It's too much time for too little. I think it was Dicaprio's first 'ok' movie in a long while. He's been firing on all cylinders for so long it's a bummer that it wasn't a better flick.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
    @Wick

Yeah, part of my disappointment in the movie was that people kept saying 'Oh, it's a thinker!' and that it was 'intelligent' in some way. But... Unless I majorly missed something, which is entirely possible, it's just them going deeper and deeper into dreams and from each 'deeper layer' they had to have someone in the previous 'layer' to boot them out again. There's the rest of the plot with the 'idea planting' or 'Inception' or whatever they were calling it and DiCaprios wife... but.. whatever.. they dynamic is the dream layer stuff.

So, cool.. I guess. I just didn't find all of it very entertaining. I've wanted to watch it again for a long time, but the beginning was so boring I just can't get the nerve up to try and get past that.

P'raps I'll try anyway, because I saw it in the theatre, and I find that taints my perception of movies, 'cause I find theatres very uncomfortable.

+1 And she's got the body for it ;) I've gotta watch Jonah Hex & Jennifer's Body...

Re: Inception: I saw it in theatres probably about a month after it came out, which was mostly delayed due to my 2 week trip to Hong Kong & Macau. My friends had all hyped it up to being "as awesome or better than the Matrix", so when I went to watch it, naturally, I was quite disappointed by it.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
The Matrix was awesome.. the other two were... ok.

I noticed something very strange in the second one, which I just watched again last week... Maybe it's been talked about before, but I've never seen it said or been a part of the discussion.

If anyone has the movie at hand, when the main characters first arrive at Zion, there are the people in charge of letting them dock etc. Basically some desk jockeys who say 'Hey! Access code! Ok, you're good' then they hit a button to open the doors.

They have the fanciest, most futuristic fucking setup in the entire movie. Actually, in the entire trilogy. Far more advanced than anything the machines have. It's this big white room with 'Minority Report' style computers and shit all over the place... and that's your first glimpse of Zion. So you're like 'Ooh... fancy!' then you get to enter the place and it's a bunch of fucking caves with sacks and shit as doors and windows run by rusty old machines and defended by overzealous mechs which still use powdered ammo.

So.. what the hell? The people who are in charge of docking ships are utilizing technology that far outstrips the rest of the 'colony'? I don't get it... it seemed very out of place to me.

Anyway, if you have the movie kicking around... take a look. If not.. ignore and go on not caring.
  • Wick, I like the National Treasure movies....they are fun to watch.
  • Wick, I like the National Treasure movies....they are fun to watch.
    It was a fun watch.

I'm planning to rent the sequel later today.
The second one is a lot of fun to watch.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
While Nicholas Cage mostly sucks, the National Treasure movies were good. So was 'Lord Of War' I thought.

    Lately I've watched:

    * = Seen it before.

    Pleasantville*
    Freakonomics
    Machete
    127 Hours
    The Freebie
    Rock Star*
    Wanted*
    Phenomenon*

    I enjoyed them all...

I also tried to watch 'Hitch Hikers Guide' again... and I just can't do it. I fucking hate it... even though Douglas Adams was all up on that bitch making sure it was to his liking and the whatnot... I despise it. Sam Rockwell is the perfect fit for Zaphod though...

The rest of it... Ugh. Just can't do it.
  • @Doos I feel the same about Hitch Hikers...I have tried a bunch of times to watch it and can't get through. I watched Body of Lies with Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio on saturday night, and it was very good. I had never seen it. I watch The Green Mile yesterday...always liked that movie. Sam Rockwell is awesome in it as well.
  • DoosDoos Centurion
    Body Of Lies was excellent.

So was Proof of Life! Sam Rockwell is a talented mahfugger and should be in more movies!

I'm going to have to watch the Green Mile again... I haven't seen it in a long time!
