When is Voyeurism not Voyeurism

well effective today and for the foreseeable future who the fuck knows.... but school girls in a change room have NO right to privacy. Filming them while they change isnt voyeurism because they are in public???

    Wait, what? What'd I miss?

well while schools are public , there are spaces in schools that arent. Two of those places are washrooms and change rooms. So no pictures or videos can be taken in those places. At least thats how it used to be. Basic privacy.

  • this ruling changes that... or helps to change that. Is there an expectation to privacy on a public beach?... in a public changeroom in a store?... in a school hallway? what about a change room in a school?...

I agree there is no expectation of privacy and therefore no Voyeurism but fuck sakes it has to be against some laws

  • Law212Law212 Centurion

You agree? I say there is an expectation of privacy in those places.

  • how care there be when you are routinely photographed in those places...all of those places

  • Jux what you missed is an upper court ruling in a case of a teacher filming teenage girls breast area while at school... in class in hallways...change rooms
he did it with a micro cam

he was found not guilty because there is no expectation of privacy in those places...

  • Law212Law212 Centurion

all those places? no. change rooms? no. beach , fine, hallways? fine. Though schools are public places. They arent open to just anyone to come hang out. You have to be a student or a teacher or staff. So it doesnt fall under a public place. you need permission to take pictures of people in or on the property.

Change rooms and bathrooms in any place though there is always expectation of privacy.

I can see why the government would want to take that away, but once we give that away and more and more small rights then they will take them all.

the are now security cameras in most change rooms. Including all of those operated by most cities, including those in most schools, including bathrooms in many public areas like airports and malls

so if you know you are already being filmed by security... and that is legal how can you have an expectation of privacy from being filmed by a teacher or fellow student. The supreme court says you cant...in a split decision

  • Law212Law212 Centurion

What laws are you going by? Do you have a link ? because i cant find anything updated since 2012

  • well the supreme court ruling was yesterday...I am not sure what laws allowed them to put cameras up Now...but the cams are there and there are signs telling you the you are being recorded. That might be how it works now. That there have to be signs telling you...so, therefore, you have no expectation of privacy.

I think change rooms a different. There wont be any in any bathroom stalls though . for years there have been signs up stating that you are being recorded. Not all , and i havent seen many that did have cameras. Also in places where children will be have extra protection. Public schools where the ones using those places are under 18? Im not sure but recording those images can fall under child pornography creation .

  • well not according to the supreme court because that is what the prosecution was appealing. They charged him with the creation of child porn and Voyeurism. He was found not guilty and the highest court just upheld the decision

  • Law212Law212 Centurion

well id agree with that because i doubt there was any intent to create or capture child images.

I agree with the case with the London teacher. I'm not sure what all else is being talked about here. I haven't seen anything about cameras in change rooms and what not. Is there an article to link?

As for the teacher. He was fired from his job for filming teen girls chests with a pen camera. Like, cleavage or tight sweaters. What basically anyone could see with their eyes, he captured on a camera. They couldn't prove he was trying to sell them or distribute or anything so he's being pervy and that's not really a crime.

A fireable offense? Absolutely. But should he be doing jail time or convicted of child pornography?

I dunno man.. that's a real fine line. Weird situation. Makes me feel weird.

This is why I wish people would post links to stories. That way people who havent heard of it can read up on it and any related laws and so on.

no article we were just talking. there is actually 2 cases like this in london...our talk merged both. The other case was where the coach filmed girls in a locker room. and then I was reading from the various court decisions that were referenced. Unfortunately, I dont digest my news typically at my computer so I dont have links.

This all sounds weird and scary to me.
