Nostalgia of Saturday mornings
  • So, i decided it was time to teach you kids what are great Saturday morning cartoons, or at least what they were. Not so long ago me and Raj had a Twitter discussion about this and i had to share some of my favorite cartoons as a kid. Some of you will find yourselves going down memory lane while others will simply be amazed by how many good cartoons we had back then compared to today's lame Saturday mornings, with the exceptions of Fairly Odd Parents, The Legend of Korra, and The Last Airbender.

Here is my all time favorite morning cartoons:

    Ulysses 31(this was my favorite)

Goldorak (i think it was Grendizer and Mazinger in english but not sure and i only found the french version intro)

Captain Harlock (this is the 1978 version and not the 1984 one... if you watch that show closely you'll notice it has something in comon with Zelda... an ocarina =D)

    Voltron (ancestors of Power Rangers)

    Thundercats

The Mighty Hercules (used to woke up at 5:30 every morning just to watch that show)

    M.A.S.K.

    Centurions

And there are lots more but i'll leave some for you guys to share as we really had the best Saturday mornings ever when it came to great cartoon shows.

  • COPS. I loved that cartoon!

    C.O.P.S

  • Thats the one.
  • I know this is not quite nostalgic but i just found these 2 videos (most likely fan made) that needs to become reality

And this one is just plain sexy

  • The fact that the Spiderman opening from the 60's isn't in this thread makes it invalid. Fixed... :)

    Transformers!

    G.I. Joe!

    Duck Tales!

    Talespin!

  • @RumGeoff Fixed the video for you. For YouTube, you can just post the link, encasing it as a URL won't work.
  • I remember a lot of these, as I'm an early '80's kid. So many great memories. Today's cartoons are all too japanimated for my liking.

I feel more or less the same.
  • Yes, I know OLD LINK IS OLD but I only recently discovered it:

    http://www.toonamiaftermath.com/

Constant streaming of classic cartoons and anime from our childhoods.
  • I watched some of these cartoons sporadically, but I didn't have cable as a kid. Most of my viewing time went into Disney cartoons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Mr. Dressup, Under The Umbrella Tree and Fred Penner.
