What Did You Accomplish In Life Today? Vol. 2
  • @Ozzi

He's obsessed with his lawn. It has to be perfect. So, they've gotta' go.

I could really care less about the lawn.

No, cause my flight from Toronto was delayed so we had to rush basically to our next flight, which was across the airport and we had to get out bags checked again and go through security...did i mention security in Winnipeg is allot more intense than Toronto or anywhere i've been...

Ah, gotcha. Not that there's much to see around here anyway so you didn't miss anything.
Is it actually? I always thought it was just regular ol' airport security.

It is essentially but they do a swab on everything! check everyones bags even though they went through the machine. if you beeped on the metal detector you would get wanded then they would ask if you would like physical search if you would like to go through the full body scanner. even if the wand came off clean and even after they removed the article that was metal....
  • My brother had an allergic reaction to couscous at school today so he went to the hospital just incase it was severe and they just told him to take some benedryl. It was a little worrying seeing as my older brother had an almost deadly allergic reaction when someone opened an orange near him at school once.

I don't even know what a couscous is!

Those are some weird allergy's never heard of a couscous allergy or even an orange allergy...and to answer your question couscous is essentially pasta but they are insanely small balls, now you can get Israeli couscous which is much bigger the couscous can be served with many different things. so he might have had a reaction to one of the things with it?

I hope your brother is doing well now though.

  • @Ozzi Lol really? I've only ever had a patdown at the airport, but yeah, they're sticklers about your bags. Kind of annoying. And it's sloooowww.

@YourEscape yikes, hope he's okay? It's not a serious allergy is it?

For christmas i flew to nova scotia to see family. I had not shaved in a while so the terrorist beard was growing out and im darker than most even in the winter.

I got "randomly" selected to be put into the xray machine.

in halifax, comming home i was in line goingthrouhg security , and while i had shaved and cleaned up for my visit it was now all growing back in. I got up to that mat you stand on that then tells you which line to get into. before it sorted me , i turned to the fmeale security guard and said "let me guess" and then boom it tells me to go to the xray machine. I say to her "Random eh?"

Another time, I had my battery powered toothbrush in my carry on bag and forgot to take the batteries out. While on the conveyor it turned on. So my bag had a vibrating object going nuts in my bag . and I had to wait while they had to open and investigate what it was. I saw people giggling, and knew people thought i had a dildo in my bag.

  • When they pat me down i act like im enjoying it to freak the guy out... thats the best way to describe it.

I just found out that one of the places i was in up north just shot and killed a polar bear and skinned it! i wish i was around to witness that...fuckers were shy when i was up there.

  • I'd rather they are shy. Saw a picture of a guy who got grabbed by the leg by one and he had a big hole in his leg. you could see through it and see tendons and crap. just from grabing him.
  • That's why you have a gun ;)
  • He had a gun too. Luckily he reached it and shot the bear , but that was after his foot was torn apart. Then again you can get hit by a car crossing the road. So.
  • I went and saw a special live pre-screening of the upcoming documentary about Indy Game Development. It was...incredible. I highly suggest that every single one of you check your local theaters and see if it will be coming to one of them in the near future. Even if you have zero passion for getting into game development, the video will absolutely inspire you and blow you away...it was a really great experience and I loved every second of it, including the live Q&A with the creator of FEZ afterward. Here is a trailer for those interested...

Now I'm off to the midnight showing of The Avengers...peace
  • @LegendofMyth Is that playing at the Garneau?

No...it was a one time showing (because it was streaming LIVE from Toronto, a special pre-screening before the movies release later this month) at the North Cineplex Cinema.

And holy fuckin shit cock...The Avengers was godly. Like, the best super hero movie ever made. Joss Whedon is a God...and deserves to be treated like one. If you go see it, make sure you stay until after ALL the credits...ALL of them...there are TWO special videos that play, one half way through the credits and a VERY special one after all of them that they filmed AFTER the movie premiered, so no reviewer could see it...it was aired for the first time tonight during these midnight showings.

  • was out till 2 ish with a buddy last night then had to be at work by 9AM no big deal i've worked on worse days before and on less sleep. so my boss texted me at like 7:00 saying i don't need to start till noon! not too bad seeing i got to sleep more.

Did it drop out while watching it at all? Some friends of mine here in Toronto couldn't get into Bloor Cinema and went to Scotiabank Theatre where it was streamed to, and it dropped three times :(.

  • I lost the cast and brace, but gained glasses. I dunno if that was a fair trade. =S

Ya, it dropped a few times...but the drops were all right next to each other during Jonathan Blows speech (that Ive heard a million times already) and only lasted maybe 30 seconds total. Nothing major.
  • Saw The Avengers...was a really well done movie...everyone should go see it.
  • Also, Adam Yauch from The Beastie Boys died today.

Yes if u owe them money its a crime if u dont pay by April 30th. If they owe u $$ they'd prefer if u didn't file at all. lol It's by the end of May, maybe longer not sure of the exact date for negative tax balances.
  • tired from a week of work in the sun
    friday though, feels good

The local rock station has been playing Beastie Boys all day.

I thought they were hip hop?
  • beastie boys have done a variety of music in the past they're known for hip hop but did some rock and punk, plus all the stuff they've produced (as individuals) for other artists.

They even played as a country music backup band on TV once. I forget who the singer was though.

    Heres their country album...

the main thrust here is that they're actual musicians, not 'performers' ... so genres aren't an issue for them.

  • Was going through more of my old stuff today and i stumbled on some nostalgic video gaming device. Back in my days, these were considered handheld gaming devices...kinda. So, i decided to share some pics of it with you guys.

I know it's a bit beat up but i gotta say that it dates back to 30 years ago and it did saw a lot of "C" batteries and sunlight (needed both to be powered) in its lifetime, yet it still works perfectly. Only the stickers got overused 'cause it followed me everywhere i went as a kid. Beat that 3DS and PS Vita lol.
  • Well Ive been sorting all my comic files on my computer into better organized folders, and organized all my episodes of Young Justice as well.

Also played with Lego and was throwing out all my Megablocks crap that was mixed in. Next order of bussiness is to put all my Lego figs into a separate container
  • Just going to an event today setting up for it then staying all day mingling with people. hope it goes as well as I've been told it will.

And i saw the Avengers last night! Fucking amazing movie! stayed till the very end of the credits...lmao awesome :P

  • Hung out with @Rajio at Sony's Spring Showcase event today. Also beat Keadin in Sony All-Stars Battle Royale (although that's only because my attacks missed frequently and I got hit the least...)
  • Saved a dog at work from getting hit by a car. There was explosions and dead bodies everywhere, but that little dog is safe
  • Finally met @Talus in person today and drooled over his nice camera.

Yes, minus the explosions and shit. But I ran across the street and picked up the dog before the car hit it.
