Too bad coins dont mean anything anymore now that I have all the krypt unlocked. Id rather turn them into respect points

Yes, that is a shame. I have well over a million coins now. Or is that two million...

    QFT.

  • My favorite controller is my mouse and keyboard. =3
  • I gotta say, paddle controllers (like the coleco vision one and the atari ones) are among my favourites. so responsive!
  • I totally love the 360 controllers. Nintendo64 is a little weird when your' not used to it but still good after you get used to it. Gamecube controllers are good too and I liked the SNES and Sega controllers.

PS3 though? Oh god those are horrible. Even PS2 was O-KAY and bearable, but PS3 ones are sooo awkward imo.

Gaming joysticks are good too like for the computer. I don't even remember what game I used to play with 'em.
  • Has anybody tried N64 controllers akimbo? I think it was goldeneye or perfect dark that let you do that. 1 controller in each hand. it was some serious business.
  • 360 controllers are the best, in my opinion. For everything other than a d-pad centric game.

Once you need the d-pad, 360 controllers are no longer the best.
  • pffft dpads are an anachronism
  • Best controller evar!

Not only were they quite responsive but they were also almost indestructible. We don't find Beasts like those anymore unfortunately.

  • I picked this up today...and I must say, Holy Shit. The best damn MP game this generation. I have never had this much fun shooting the shit out of others in...well...a long ass time. Why Microsoft wont get their shit together and start getting some amazing exclusives like this is beyond me.

  • @LegendofMyth

i was considering getting Starhawk because it looks like a lot of fun

out of curiosity what past shooters would you compare the multiplayer experience to?

i got burned when i bought Killzone 3 and i'm a little skeptical about this one, especially since there doesn't appear to be much to the game aside from the MP

you would say it's worth the full price tag then?

  • 1) Simmed through the majority of a season in The Bigs 2 and won the World Series. I played a couple games in order to earn 1,000,000 performance points. Having already put tons of hours into the game's Become a Legend mode, I've become somewhat sick of it and decided just to sim and be done with it.

I loved the first Bigs, but this one was very similar and became repetitive quickly as a result. I guess it didn't help that I ended up playing through that lengthy mode twice in the first game.

    2) Played through the Spec Ops: The Line demo. It's pretty good. Planning to play through the full game once it's released.

    3) Finally got around to starting (and completing) both of Toy Soldiers: Cold War's DLC packs.
  • I started playing Killzone 3 again after buying it last summer and stopping halfway thru the campaign for some reason. I'm thinking maybe GOW3 came out? I finished off the campaign yesterday and played some MP and I have to agree the PS3 controller is odd to use for FPS. I've had my PS3 for about a year now and still find the controller weird to hold.

Not with fighting games they're not.
  • oh yeah? then fighting games are an anachronism!
  • Picked up and started playing Minecraft. I love how it's easy to craft things now compared to the PC Version. The only 2 things i dislike are the price and easy achievements (not enough challenging achievements).
  • @MSQGanner I kinda wanted to get Minecraft. Would you say go PC or Xbox on this one? I think I'm leaning more towards PC.

Depends. If you want to play Solo or use mods i'd say go for the PC version but if you want to play multiplayer without having to search for a good server or if your PC has a hard time running games then i'd say go for the 360 version. Personally i have both versions 'cause that way i can watch TV and play the game or play the game and browse the net at the same time.

Past Shooter Experiences? Its Warhawk meets Battlefield 3 with RTS base building thrown in....IN SPACE! Its also got a western theme...so...SPACE WESTERN! (Que Firefly opening theme).

It has a single player campaign, but it feels more like a tutorial for the MP experience...the good news is the MP is running 100% with zero issues...no lag, nothing. Just 32 people building bases and shooting the shit out of each other.

There was an open beta for it that lasted like...a month. Did you by any chance try it?

cool and no i didn't get a chance to participate in the beta, but that probably would've been a good idea

  • @Lactos I would go with the PC version IMO. If you're smart enough to fool around with it, you can get a multiplayer server going. I also watched a video on the Xbox version showing that the game world is limited to the map. The PC version is infinite. I also think the map only goes a bit past 1000 blocks, which is not a lot of space.

  • thinkking about playing la noire again
    awesome game
  • Sadly havent played too much, I really sit down and focus completing all the challenge modes with Red Robin(aka Robin skin) in Batman AC
  • PLayed some Super street fighter 4 Arcade Edition. I love this game. I was using Yang for the first time and he is really cool to play as. Goingot have to do some training with him and take him online.
  • Beat the same extreme challenge as both Robin and Nightwing. Nightwing's take down on Titan Thugs is 100% flashy and showboating which is very fitting
  • Played Minecraft 360 all evening (and part of the day) and still liking it pretty much. And yes the world is limited to map size compared the 50 million blocks wide worlds of the PC version but when it first came out for PC (up to verson 1.2) it was also limited to smaller worlds. Only thing i hope is that they wont charge for the updates if those said updates bring forth new features/ressources/world size/etc.
  • I forgot to mention that the 360 version of Minecraft is version 1.12 (or 1.13) since we can still harvest wool by hitting sheeps without needing shears and that there are issues with water/lava buckets not filling properly.
  • @MSQ Im pretty sure Mojang wouldnt have agreed to release it if they werent allowed to update it for free.
At least, I hope that's the case.
You can be sure there will be no achievements added for free though, as that is against Xbox's policy

yeah mojang isn't a business or anything.

  • Businesses are still allowed to have preferences.

  • Wrote a review, as well as several news posts. Seems like it's pre-E3 blitz time.
  • picked up Twisted Metal today (it came with a download for twisted metal black awesome surprise) I'm going to give it a go soon

add me on psn people who want to play..pr just add me lol

    (mrnpc)
  • I spent three hours playing Mario Tennis Open, and won all four of its standard difficulty singles tourneys, as well as three out of four of the (same) doubles tourneys. Also tried out the pro difficulty ones and all of the mini-games.
  • @the1npc I will add you as soon as I can, unless you want to add me first, it'll probably be faster. I have a bit of a mold problem, so I can't access my consoles right now. PSN ID: Subject-XIII
  • right on, I cant wait to get some games going I tried some regular deathmatch yesterday and acctually placed in the top 3, must be all those years playing TM2 and 4
  • I beat Max Payne 2. It's such an amazing game. Now I'm ready for Tuesday.
  • I've played some minecraft 360 edition with some friends. I think I might try out the split screen later. I also bought Just Cause 2 I've been trying to find that game for ever. I managed to find it at the local video store that also sells games aswell. I might have to start going there for games that eb doesn't carry or have much.
  • Played Batman: Arkham City for a couple more hours. Just about finished with the sniper side quest.
  • Just finished building the first floor of my house...well, ok; It's more like a big mansion or a castle than a house, in Minecraft 360 lol. Anyway, i totally builded that in a record time. I also started building a train station, kinda. I only got the chance to dig doug down a staircase, i've yet to actually build the train station structure itself since i keep running out of ressources.
  • I set a goal to reach level 30 for my Sith Juggernaut and I have met that goal today. The reason isn't because of "Oh, the Sith Warrior story is so amazing!" or anything like that, even though I am enjoying it. I just want to progress through Vette's story before Diablo 3 comes out.
  • I'm makin' a new PSN ID and I'm trying to decide between "sesquipedalian" and "oubliette". Opinions?
I'm kind of leaning more towards the first one. hm.
  • @xxDinoSaurus Whatever you decide on, add me: Subject-XIII I need more friends.

The fuck do those even mean? Also, same as Gaussian...whatever you go with, add me!

    LegendofMyth
  • I played Battlefield 3 for a bit and realized that it's a piece of shit and Dice are retards. Back to Bad Company 2, I suppose.

  • @gaussianmist @legendofmyth ill add you both once i make it.

as for what they mean? i think sesquipedalian is a word to describe long words and oubliette is like a dungeon or cave with an opening only in the ceiling. i like how they sound.
i was originally gonna go with 'floccinaucinihilipilification' but it was too long. sadface.
  • I'm ahead of the game for this!

floccinaucinihilipilification means something that is valueless in the sense that it is worthless. Normally it is used as an example of the longest word in the English language, making itself a floccinaucinihilipilification.

Besides isn't the longest word in the English Language a medical term involving the lungs?

    Look at that!
    Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
    Stupid Silica dust...
  • Made more progress in Arkham City, due to playing for about four hours. Finished a couple of the story missions (seemingly near the end now,) stopped Zsasz and Deadshot, and also stopped some muggings.
  • twisted metal and some sly 2, good stuff
